Introduction: Frequently, patients with locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC are screened for mutations and fusions. In most laboratories, molecular workup includes a multitude of tests: immunohistochemistry (ALK, ROS1, and programmed death-ligand 1 testing), DNA sequencing, in situ hybridization for fusion, and amplification detection. With the fast-emerging new drugs targeting specific fusions and exon-skipping events, this procedure harbors a growing risk of tissue exhaustion. Methods: In thi... Abstract

The Netherlands journal of medicine, Volume 74, Issue 8, 1 1 2016, Pages 336-341 Human metapneumovirus in haematopoietic stem cell transplantation recipients: a case series and review of the diagnostic and therapeutic approach. Hoppe BP, de Jongh E, Griffioen-Keijzer A, Zijlstra-Baalbergen JM, IJzerman EP, Baboe F
Human metapneumovirus (hMPV) is a paramyxovirus that causes respiratory tract infections ranging from mild upper airway infection to severe pneumonia. Patients with haematological disease, especially haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) recipients, are more likely to develop more severe infections. We describe three cases of hMPV infection in HSCT patients. The most reliable diagnostic procedure for hMPV is multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA) on a nasopharyngeal sw... Nederlands tijdschrift voor geneeskunde, Volume 159, 1 1 2015, Pages A9077 [A 24-year-old man with chest pain]. Hoppe BP, Wattel-Louis GH, IJzerman EP, Voogel AJ
A 24-year-old man was seen with position dependent chest pain and fever. Electrocardiography showed typical diffuse repolarisation changes matching with perimyocarditis. Local petechiae developed on the left leg and bloodcultures were positive for Neisseria meningitidis serogroup C, which provided the diagnosis perimyocarditis caused by Neisseria meningitidis. Clinical infectious diseases : an official publication of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, Volume 51, Issue 11, 29 5 2010, Pages 1266-1272 Predicting the need for radiologic imaging in adults with febrile urinary tract infection. van Nieuwkoop C, Hoppe BP, Bonten TN, Van't Wout JW, Aarts NJ, Mertens BJ, Leyten EM, Koster T, Wattel-Louis GH, Delfos NM, Ablij HC, Elzevier HW, van Dissel JT
Background: Radiologic evaluation of adults with febrile urinary tract infection (UTI) is frequently performed to exclude urological disorders. This study aims to develop a clinical rule predicting need for radiologic imaging. Methods: We conducted a prospective, observational study including consecutive adults with febrile UTI at 8 emergency departments (EDs) in the Netherlands. Outcomes of ultrasounds and computed tomographs of the urinary tract were classified as "urgent urological disor... Abstract
